Second Step

Want to help your class learn empathy?
Are you concerned about your children's impulsiveness?
Would you like to have your children work together peacefully without aggression or hurt feelings?

Second Step is an exciting new classroom-based prevention program being offered by the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board. Through a series of 15 to 20 interactive sessions, children between the ages of 4 and 14 years old will learn social and emotional skills that help reduce impulsive and aggressive behaviors while increasing pro-social behaviors such as the ability to communicate their feelings, identify and respond appropriately to the emotions of others, and practice positive problem solving skills.
