Thorough knowledge of individual management guidelines for Virginia. Thorough knowledge of the laws and legal procedures relating to involuntary hospital admission. Thorough knowledge of the treatment providers and admission procedures for the region served. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and with private and public agency personnel. Ability to function calmly in stressful situations. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to maintain individual records. Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences and considerable therapeutic counseling experience including crisis intervention and hospitalization of substance abusive, mentally and/or emotionally disabled individuals; or combination of education and experience to produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. State certification as a Qualified Pre-screener.  Valid state driver’s license, MA/MS, LPC or LCSW preferred, or eligibility for same. Must reside within the RACSB service area. Must be able to work a rotating schedule with shifts including days, evenings, overnights and weekends. Salary $50,856 + benefits.

  • 15-114 Detention Based Therapist at the Rappahannock Juvenile Center (full-time): Provides direct and indirect therapeutic care for individuals in a substance abuse treatment program. Work entails diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation of counseling, and crisis intervention of juveniles in a correctional setting. Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of the mentally ill and substance abusing population and related individual, group and family therapy and counseling techniques and practices.   • 15-77 Mental Health Therapist at the Stafford County Outpatient Clinic (full-time): This position provides direct therapeutic treatment services to individuals with mental illness and/or emotional disabilities.   • 15-108 Drug Court Surveillance Officer in Fredericksburg (part-time): This position performs intermediate protective service work, monitoring Drug Court participants for compliance. Duties are performed in collaboration with the Drug Court Administrator and supervised by the Fredericksburg Clinic Coordinator.  Duties involve monitoring, interviewing and testing Drug Court participants; preparing documentation, records and files; and coordinating participant services and data with appropriate staff and agencies. High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred. This position is part-time, evenings and weekends. Hourly rate: $15.35.

  • 15-100 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Supervisor in Fredericksburg (full-time): Provides direct intensive therapeutic interventions and case management services in the office, home or field to adolescents referred by the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court. Position also supervises the recruitment, training and work of assigned Drug Treatment Court Therapists. Thorough knowledge of: Diagnosis and treatment of the mentally ill/emotionally disabled and substance abusing populations including a mixture of treatment modalities pertaining to children/adolescents; Principles of child/adolescent psychology, physical and intellectual development; Principles of substance abuse treatment and family and group dynamics; Individual management guidelines for VA. Must have strong communication skills , experience with adolescents and families with SA/MA, program development skills, and experience proving supervision to staff.  Master's Degree in a behavioral science with considerable professional experience in direct therapy to the child and adolescent population or equivalent education/experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  CSAC certified, LCSW or LPC license or license eligible.  Valid Virginia Driver’s License.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, with two (2) nights per week minimum.   • 15-96 Clinic Coordinator II at Stafford County Clinic (full-time): Responsible for program planning and development of an Outpatient Clinic for intellectually disabled, substance abused, and/or seriously emotionally disturbed individuals. Experience in providing supervision of an outpatient mental health/substance abuse clinic preferred. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, work independently, and have strong communication and computer skills. Extensive clinical work experience in the treatment of individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder. LCSW or LPC required.   • 15-95 Psychologist at Stafford County Clinic (full-time): Conducts psychological evaluations and forensic assessments; expert testimony.  Provides direct therapeutic services to individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual disabilities. Treatment services include individual, family and group therapy. Experience in providing outpatient mental health and substance abuse services to adults; experienced in assessments.  Must have strong communication and computer skills, and be a motivated, self-starter.   • 15-50 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Mentor (part-time): This position provides mentoring services to participants in the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Drug Treatment Court as a means of supporting treatment for recovery of substance abuse. The service is intended to provide participants with socialization experiences, tutoring, transportation and monitoring as a means of promoting abstinence from alcohol and drugs and involvement in activities inconsistent with criminal behavior. Experienced with adolescents; must work independently; must communicate effectively. High School Diploma, with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science preferred. Valid Virginia Driver’s License.   • 15-23 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (full-time): Performs medical, diagnostic and treatment services for the agency's individuals served population in collaboration with agency psychiatrists. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatry and nursing. Has thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques related to individual therapy and counseling practices for individuals with mental illness. Is able to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports in compliance with licensure regulations. Is able to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals served, physicians, subordinates and others contacted in the course of work. Master’s degree in nursing and certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Current DEA registration. Demonstrated past experience in community mental health with chronically mentally ill preferred.   • 15-109 Day Support Counselor at Rappahannock Adult Activities Kings Highway site (part-time): This position collects data, instructs and monitors adults, with intellectual disabilities, in basic social, personal leisure, and vocational skills in a community based setting. Good knowledge of vocational rehabilitative programs and instruction techniques in the work setting assigned.  Knowledge of the behavioral needs associated with persons with intellectual disabilities.  Skill in establishing on going rapport and communication with non-verbal participants. Skill in supervising and instructing on an individual and group   basis.  Ability to keep accurate records and prepare daily reports.  Ability to communicate instructions.  Skill in training, teaching, and coaching people with disabilities. Ability to respond to crisis situations both behaviorally and medically. Working knowledge of proper body mechanics/lifting skills. This means an individual possessing at least one year of documented work experience with individuals who have intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities and is one of the following:  a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, a registered nurse, or holds at least a Bachelor’s  Degree in the Behavioral Sciences and some experience in a Day Support setting, or equivalent education, experience, and training to produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid Virginia Driver’s License. Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position is located in Spotsylvania County.  Annual salary $35,045 + benefits.

  • 15-125 Family Support Worker, Healthy Families Rappahannock Area (full-time): The Family Support Worker is responsible for initiating and maintaining home visiting services to first time parents who are considered to be at risk for abusing or neglecting their child. The position will work with parents to promote bonding and increase parent/child interactions as well as on child development, prenatal and child health, problem solving skills, and linking to community resources as needed. The position will also coordinate community-based events for families in collaboration with other community organizations.  Experience in working with culturally diverse communities and families with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate. Experience in conducting group educational or support sessions. Knowledge of community resources. Experience working with overburdened families. Experience conducting meetings and public speaking. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood Education, child development, nursing, social work, or child-related field preferred. Applicant must be computer literate. EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES (full-time with benefits as well as part-time opportunities available)

  • 15-131 Speech/Language Pathologist for Parent Education - Infant Development (full-time): This position provides speech-language therapy services to developmentally delayed and/or physically handicapped infants age birth to 3 years and their families. Incumbent functions as part of a transdisciplinary team providing services that focus on language and cognitive development, oral motor and feeding skills, and supports the overall development of a child, implementing treatment plans developed by the team, and providing training to parents and agency staff. Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and some professional work experience in the field, including some experience with infants and toddlers. Valid state driver’s license. Certification as a Part C Provider in Virginia. Licensed by the Dept. of Health Professionals in Speech and Audiology and holds Certificate of Clinical Competence by American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

  • 14-220 Van Driver - Substitute (part-time): Provides safe and timely transportation for individuals with various physical and/or mental disabilities to and from their residences to various developmental programs provided by the Agency. The successful candidate will possess: thorough knowledge of the operating and safety practices and techniques related to driving a passenger vehicle; thorough knowledge of state and local laws governing vehicular movement on public thoroughfares; good knowledge of routine preventive maintenance practices and common mechanical failures related to the vehicle operated; good knowledge of the regional geography and major road systems; good knowledge of emergency first aid and CPR techniques; good skill in the operation of a motor vehicle; some knowledge of the common behavior of the population of individuals served by RACSB; good physical condition required to provide assistance to individuals entering and exiting the vehicles; ability to handle crisis situations and relate well with individuals served, their families and agency staff.
