  • 15-50 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Mentor (part-time): This position provides mentoring services to participants in the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Drug Treatment Court as a means of supporting treatment for recovery of substance abuse. The service is intended to provide participants with socialization experiences, tutoring, transportation and monitoring as a means of promoting abstinence from alcohol and drugs and involvement in activities inconsistent with criminal behavior. Experienced with adolescents; must work independently; must communicate effectively. High School Diploma, with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science preferred. Valid Virginia Driver’s License. Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends. This position requires 15 hours per week. Hourly rate $13.71.

  • 14-286 Mental Health Nurse at Crisis Stabilization Program (full-time): Serves as the primary nursing position in the Crisis Stabilization Program, a 24/7 highly intensive mental health residential treatment facility for persons experiencing serious psychiatric or behavioral problems which jeopardize their current community living. This position assists the staff psychiatrist and nurse practitioner in the prescription, administration and monitoring of medication, discharge planning and general daily patient care. This position works an 8 to 10 hour shift on a rotating schedule, including weekends, and while on shift serves as the lead health care provider. Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatric nursing. Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques related to individual therapy and counseling practices for individuals with mental illness. Ability to coordinate and schedule therapy treatment services. Ability to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports.   • 15-23 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (full-time): Performs medical, diagnostic and treatment services for the agency's individuals served population in collaboration with agency psychiatrists. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatry and nursing. Has thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques related to individual therapy and counseling practices for individuals with mental illness. Is able to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports in compliance with licensure regulations. Is able to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals served, physicians, subordinates and others contacted in the course of work. Master’s degree in nursing and certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Current DEA registration. Demonstrated past experience in community mental health with chronically mentally ill preferred. Licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner who specializes in the area of psychiatry; experience in an outpatient mental heals/substance abuse setting; strong computer skills; knowledge of electronic health records.   • 15-06 Psychosocial Advocate at Kenmore Club (full-time): Provides services and support to individuals with long-term mental illness through the clubhouse (day support program) model; including pre vocational training, vocational training, outreach, and supportive counseling. Incumbent may supervise the preparation of lunch for all program participants, a clerical unit, do outreach and home visiting, and supervises the preparation of statistical reporting or a program maintenance unit staffed by program participants. Good knowledge of the practices and techniques of rehabilitative vocational training in "club house" setting. Some knowledge of social casework management and of supportive level counseling practices. Ability to lead the work of others. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to relate well to people with mental and emotional disabilities. Ability to prepare accurate financial and other reports. Ability to establish effective working relationships with participant families, service providers and employers. Bachelor's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences with some professional work in vocational training with the mentally ill population and experience in grounds maintenance work, or registered with IAPSRS.   • 15-02 Emergency Services Therapist at the Fredericksburg Clinic (full-time): Assesses the general psychological and medical status of individuals referred to the agency for services and determines and arranges for appropriate treatment providers or personally provides direct therapeutic treatment on an emergency basis. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques involved in the diagnosis and general treatment of the substance abusive, mentally and/or emotionally disabled population. Thorough knowledge of individual management guidelines for Virginia. Thorough knowledge of the laws and legal procedures relating to involuntary hospital admission. Thorough knowledge of the treatment providers and admission procedures for the region served. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population.   • 14-298 Mental Health/Substance Abuse Outpatient Therapist at the Stafford County Clinic (part-time): This position provides direct therapeutic treatment services to individuals with mental illness and/or emotional disabilities and individuals with substance use disorder. Work entails diagnosis, treatment planning, implementing counseling and case management.   • 15-52 Mental Health Residential Counselor II at the Crisis Stabilization Program (full-time): This position plans, implements and evaluates individualized social and living skills development programs for adults who have serious mental illness and are receiving services in a residential facility.  Incumbent performs supportive level counseling and training functions. Position provides back-up support to other residential programs. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of instruction for adults with long-term mental health challenges and adults with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Good knowledge of effective supportive counseling practices and techniques.Good knowledge of behavior management practices and techniques applicable to persons who have serious mental illness. Good knowledge of social casework practices. Good knowledge of common housekeeping practices. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Bachelor's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences with one year clinical experience delivering direct services to persons with long-term mental illness, gerontology, or registered with USPRA, as required by Medicaid Regulations preferred or four years of direct experience working with persons  serious mental illness, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Valid Virginia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required. This position involves overnight, weekend and shift work. Located in the City of Fredericksburg. Annual salary $34,372 + benefits.

  • 15-47 Residential Counselor I at the Crisis Stabilization Program (PRN): Supervises and provides independent living skills instruction and supportive counseling to adults with mental illness in an established Crisis Stabilization program. This position carries out instructional programs developed for the individual resident. Preferred candidates have an Associate’s degree in a related field, plus one (1) year experience in delivering direct services to persons with long-term mental illness, gerontology or special education clients or a combination of education and experience meet required knowledge, skills, and ability (KSA).   • 15-57 Day Support Specialist at Rappahannock Adult Activities Caroline County site (part-time): Develops and implements an instructional program for the development of independent living and vocational skills of adults with intellectual disabilities in an adult activity center and on the job training program. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of   rehabilitative vocational training and Medicaid programming for day support.  Good knowledge of social casework management including needs assessment and supportive level counseling. Skill in conducting training on an individual and group basis. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to relate well to people with mental and emotional problems. Ability to keep accurate records and prepare daily reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with their individuals, families and other staff and significant others. Skill in training, teaching, and coaching people with disabilities. Ability to respond to crisis situations both behaviorally and medically. Working knowledge of proper body mechanics/lifting skills. Approved “Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP)”. This means an individual possessing at least one year of documented work experience with individuals who have intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities and is one of the following:  a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, a registered nurse, or holds at least a Bachelor’s  Degree in the Behavioral Sciences and some experience in a Day Support setting, or equivalent education, experience, and training to produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid Virginia Driver’s License. Position is 29- hours per week, Monday through Friday.  This position is located in Caroline County. Hourly rate $16.53.

    15-44 Day Support Aide at Rappahannock Adult Activities, Kings Highway Location (South Stafford County) (part-time): This position assists in implementing instructional programs for adults with intellectual disabilities at the Adult Activities Day Support Program. Some knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of rehabilitative vocational training. Skill in conducting training on an individual and group basis. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to relate well to people with intellectual and emotional problems. Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.   • 14-281 Children’s Intellectual Disability Support Coordinator in Spotsylvania County (part-time): This position is responsible for coordinating service delivery to children with developmental delays, ages 3 years old to 14 years old, through outreach, assessment, service linkage, monitoring and advocacy activities. Incumbent prepares Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and interacts with schools and community service providers. Knowledge of interviewing and supportive counseling techniques. Knowledge of social casework techniques. Knowledge of the definition, causes and program philosophy of intellectual disabilities and developmental delays in birth to 3 years of age. Knowledge of the different types of assessments and their uses in program planning. Knowledge of individuals’ rights. Knowledge of local service delivery systems, including support services. Knowledge of the types of intellectual disabilities programs and services. Knowledge of effective oral, written and interpersonal communication principles and techniques. Knowledge of general principles of record documentation. Knowledge of the service planning process and the major components of a service plan. Skill in negotiating with individuals and service providers. Skill in observing, recording and reporting behaviors. Skill in identifying and documenting service needs.  Skill in coordinating the provision of services by diverse public and private providers.  Skill in analyzing and planning for the service needs of intellectually disabled persons. Ability to identify an individual’s needs for resources, services, and other assistance. Ability to identify services within the established service system to meet the individual’s needs. INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY RESIDENTIAL SERVICES (Full-time)

  • 15-56 Nurse, LPN at Lucas Street Intermediate Care Facility (full-time): Provides direct care, assessment assistance, medical services and supports to residents of the ICF/IID.   This position works an 8 to 10 hour shift on a rotating evenings and weekend schedule. Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to Licensed Practical Nursing in Virginia. Experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of medication. Basic knowledge of conditions frequently associated with IID/DD, communicable disease concepts and other infectious disease issues. Ability to accurately maintain medical records. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with residents, families and Personal Support Team, physicians and others contacted in the course of work. Ability to follow standards of operation set forth by the RACSB.  Completion of training for LPN with at least one year experience working in the medical and behavioral health field working persons with IID/DD co-occurring diagnosis or equivalent education/experience. Valid Virginia L.P.N. license. Valid VA driver’s license.  Must be able to work all shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidays.  This position is located in Spotsylvania County.  Annual salary $37,700 + benefits.

    15-22 Intellectual Disability Residential Counselor I at Brittany Commons Supervised Apartment Program (full-time):- Supervises and provides independent living skills instruction to adults with an intellectual disability in a residential setting. This position carries out instructional programs developed for the individual resident. Assists with resident hygiene, meal preparation, household duties and community outings. The successful candidate should possess: knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of instruction for persons with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness; knowledge of effective supportive counseling practices and techniques; knowledge of behavior management practices and techniques; ability to physically assist residents who may be of limited mobility; and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, essential. High school diploma and experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or combination of education and experience to produce necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid Virginia driver's license with acceptable driving record required.     15-55 Group Home Manager at Devon Drive Group Home (full-time): This position manages the operation of a group home adutls with an intellectual disability. Work involves: supervising and providing direct care to residents; administration; facility management; and implementation of Medicaid Waiver residential services. Thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques related to the care and treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities.   • 14-220, 14-199, and 14-189 Van Driver - Substitute (part-time; three positions): Provides safe and timely transportation for individuals with various physical and/or mental disabilities to and from their residences to various developmental programs provided by the Agency. The successful candidate will possess: thorough knowledge of the operating and safety practices and techniques related to driving a passenger vehicle; thorough knowledge of state and local laws governing vehicular movement on public thoroughfares; good knowledge of routine preventive maintenance practices and common mechanical failures related to the vehicle operated; good knowledge of the regional geography and major road systems; good knowledge of emergency first aid and CPR techniques; good skill in the operation of a motor vehicle; some knowledge of the common behavior of the population of individuals served by RACSB; good physical condition required to provide assistance to individuals entering and exiting the vehicles; ability to handle crisis situations and relate well with individuals served, their families and agency staff.   • 14-192 Quality Assurance Manager at the Fredericksburg Clinic (full-time): This position oversees Evaluation and Utilization Review; medical record management, and health and safety activities for the Agency. Facilitates the internal review and evaluation of all agency programs, documentation, medical records, and related management policies and procedures.  Reviews operating manuals; monitors compliance with DBHDS quality improvement performance contract requirements, CARF accreditation standards, and the agency’s health and safety program. Educates staff regarding Magellan, DMAS regulations and requirements, and agency policies.  Quality of individual treatment, program, productivity, flexibility, sensitivity, conformance to regulations are analyzed personally or by committees coordinated and directed by the incumbent. The successful candidate will possess: considerable knowledge of quality assurance program activities and requirements; working knowledge of licensure, certification, utilization review, and evaluation standards; basic clinical practices and service delivery requirements of professionals in the community service board system; and essential risk management issues. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; evaluate program needs and utilize available resources effectively and prepare related documentation and reports; and review of agency policies and procedures in licensed program areas. VIRGINIA WOUNDED WARRIOR PROGRAM

  • 15-09 Veteran Peer Specialist with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program in Spotsylvania County (full-time): Provides peer support to veterans and their families in the Fredericksburg and surrounding areas. Office is based in Spotsylvania. Position provides peer support services to veterans and their families for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, Region I. Services are provided to veterans by assisting in the navigation of services and resources which address the need presented by the veteran. This requires the continual development of a service resource network for veterans. Qualified candidates must have the ability to facilitate combat peer support groups.  Position requires the ability to connect with combat veterans at a peer level.  Required:  Must be Military Veteran in any service branch with an Honorable Discharge. Must provide DD214 or other official proof of military service. Candidate must have successfully completed an Associate’s Degree or have education and experience to produce required knowledge, skills and abilities.
