  • 15-220 Intensive Mental Health Case Manager/Hospital Liaison in Fredericksburg (full-time): This position is responsible for providing case management services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who require intensive services to successfully be served in the community.  These services may include:  pre-admission screening, pre-admission and discharge planning, services coordination and delivery, assistance in accessing needed medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational and other supports, as required, and casework documentation. Skill in observing, recording and reporting on an individual's functioning. Skill in identifying and documenting an individual's needs for resources, services and other supports.   • 15-205 Substance Abuse Therapist at the Rappahannock Regional Jail (full-time): Provides direct and indirect therapeutic care for individuals in a substance abuse treatment program. Work entails diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation counseling.   • 15-204 Supervisor, Jail/Detention Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services in Stafford (full-time): This position provides planning, implementation and oversight of the treatment and case management services being provided by RACSB staff on-site at the Rappahannock Regional Jail and the Rappahannock Juvenile Center and direct administrative and clinical supervision of all relevant staff.  The position serves as the liaison between RRJ/RJC and RACSB administration for the purposes of program development and continuation. Direct service to inmates of RRJ and to residents of RJC is also a component of the position. Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of the mentally ill and/or substance-abusing population within a correctional setting and related individual, group and family therapy and counseling techniques and practices; thorough knowledge of participant management guidelines for Virginia; good knowledge of office management practices; ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population; ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of constituents and stakeholders, including jail officers and administrators, community-based service providers and state psychiatric facility staff. The incumbent must be comfortable providing expert testimony in both oral and written formats.  Ability to function calmly in stressful situations; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to maintain individual records. Master's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences with professional experience in direct therapy to the mentally ill, or combination of education and experience to produce required knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • 15-197 Child/Adolescent Mental Health Case Manager in Stafford (full-time): The position provides case management services to children who have been identified as seriously emotionally disturbed who are at risk for out-of-home placement and/or have multi-agency involvement. Services are provided in the home, office, community, schools, juvenile detention facility and residential placements. The primary goal is maintaining youth from ages 4-21 years of age in the least restrictive environment that the youth can be maintained. At times, the least restrictive environment may be a residential setting. in that case, the case manager monitors progress by doing on-site visits with the individual regardless of where they are located in Virginia, participation in treatment team meetings and gathering updates from on-sight staff The case manager is responsible for discharge planning to transition the individual back into the home community and establish wrap around services to support the child and family upon the child's return. This position also acts as the liaison to Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA).  Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences/Human Services and equivalent education/ experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • 15-196 Peer Specialist II for the Crisis Intervention Team in Fredericksburg (full-time): Performs a variety of paraprofessional duties in support of wellness and recovery by assisting individuals utilizing the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB) Crisis Intervention Team Assessment Site. Assists individuals in mental health crisis by providing supportive counseling, helping them articulate their support needs and developing strategies for recovery, helping them monitor their progress, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the specialist’s own recovery experience and training. Ability to utilize one’s personal mental health recovery experience to support individuals in developing their recovery plans. Ability to use one’s life experience to further positive interactions with individual’s receiving services at different levels of engagement.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, their families, law enforcement, other staff and significant others.   • 15-193 Mental Health Nurse Manager for the Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) in Fredericksburg (full-time): Oversees Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) nursing services to include supervision of nursing staff, monitoring productivity and completion of performance evaluations. Oversees PACT medication room in accordance with applicable laws as well as agency and regulatory policies.  Works collaboratively  with the PACT Psychiatrist and Team Leader to develop nursing and medical policies.   • 15-192 Emergency Services Therapist in Fredericksburg (full-time): Assesses the general psychological and medical status of individuals referred to the agency for services and determines and arranges for appropriate treatment providers or personally provides direct therapeutic treatment on an emergency basis.   • 15-185 PACT (Programs for Assertive Community Treatment) Team Coordinator in Fredericksburg (full-time): The Team Coordinator directs overall program operations, supervises and evaluates the staff and provides direct services to consumers as a member of the team. Works with PACT staff to ensure quality, community based services are provided to meet individualized needs and promote positive outcomes for persons served. Establishes mechanisms to monitor and ensure program compliance with licensure, DMAS and other regulatory standards. Provides guidance and leadership to team members. A Master’s Degree in a human services field or management combined with at least five years of clinical experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. PACT or other Assertive Outreach team experience is required, with two years of supervisory and program management experience preferred. The person in this position must be knowledgeable about the ACT Fidelity Model and applicable licensure and DMAS regulatory standards. Valid Virginia Driver’s License and acceptable driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required for persons using a personal or agency vehicle in the performance of their duties.   • 15-100 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Supervisor in Fredericksburg (full-time): Provides direct intensive therapeutic interventions and case management services in the office, home or field to adolescents referred by the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court. Position also supervises the recruitment, training and work of assigned Drug Treatment Court Therapists. Experience in providing outpatient mental health and substance abuse services to adults; experienced in assessments.  Must have strong communication and computer skills, and be a motivated, self-starter.   • 15-50 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Mentor (part-time): This position provides mentoring services to participants in the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Drug Treatment Court as a means of supporting treatment for recovery of substance abuse. The service is intended to provide participants with socialization experiences, tutoring, transportation and monitoring as a means of promoting abstinence from alcohol and drugs and involvement in activities inconsistent with criminal behavior. Experienced with adolescents; must work independently; must communicate effectively. High School Diploma, with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science preferred. Valid Virginia Driver’s License. Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends. This position requires 15 hours per week. Hourly rate $13.99.

  • 15-23 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (full-time): Performs medical, diagnostic and treatment services for the agency's individuals served population in collaboration with agency psychiatrists. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatry and nursing. Has thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques related to individual therapy and counseling practices for individuals with mental illness. Is able to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports in compliance with licensure regulations.   • 15-218 Mental Health Supervised Apartment Manager – Bridgewater (full-time) - This position manages the operation of the Mental Health Bridgewater Supervised Apartment Program for seriously mentally ill persons.  Work involves supervising and providing direct care to residents/individuals, administration and facility management.  Implementation of Medicaid SPO residential services.  Works evenings, nights and weekends as needed.  May be required to work back-to-back shifts during staff shortages.  Thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques related to the care and treatment of the long-term mentally ill population.  Thorough knowledge of program development and maintenance, including state and local licensing policies and procedures, intra- and interagency cooperation, record keeping, supervision and evaluation.   • 15-40 Office Associate II at Fredericksburg Outpatient Clinic (full-time): Performs regular administrative work, which primarily involves word processing, some spreadsheet work, and other administrative duties. Works under the regular supervision of the Office Manager or Clinic Coordinator. Serves as a backup to Support Staff at all Clinics.  Good knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques. Good knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic. Good skill in the use of a personal computer, word processing and spreadsheet software and copier. Good knowledge of the common terminology of the mental health field. Some knowledge of standard bookkeeping practices. Good skill in the use of a typewriter and related keyboard equipment. Ability to meet and handle effectively and tactfully the public and program consumers. Ability to type from draft or Dictaphone at a rapid rate of speed with few errors. Ability to prepare and maintain records and files.  Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Previous Mental Health/Substance Abuse reception experience and High School Diploma supplemented by secretarial courses and/or some clerical experience, including public contact work, or equivalent training and experience. Valid Virginia Driver’s License. Annual salary $29,094 + benefits.

 

VIRGINIA WOUNDED WARRIOR PROGRAM

  • 15-219 Veteran Peer Specialist at the Caroline Outpatient Clinic (full-time): This position provides peer support to veterans and their families in the Fredericksburg and surrounding areas.  Office is based in Caroline County.  Position provides peer support services to veterans and their families for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, Region I.  Services are provided to veterans by assisting in the navigation of services and resources which address the need presented by the veteran.  This requires the continual development of a service resource network for veterans.  Qualified candidates must have the ability to facilitate combat peer support groups.  Position requires the ability to connect with combat veterans at a peer level.  Recent military experience; combat experience preferred.  Honorable discharge.  Associates Degree with two years professional experience in the human services field.  Education and experience to produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Valid Virginia State Driver’s License with good driving record.  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with periodic evening and weekend availability, not to exceed 40 hours per week.  Annual salary $42,224 + benefits.
