    14-272 Substance Abuse Therapist at Fredericksburg Clinic (full-time): Provides direct and indirect therapeutic care for individuals in a substance abuse treatment program. Work entails diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation counseling.     14-251 Mental Health Nurse at the Fredericksburg Clinic (full-time): This position assists the staff psychiatrists in the prescription, administration and monitoring of medications. The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of: the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatric nursing; to individual therapy and counseling practices for the mentally ill; and of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication.   • 14-243 Mental Health Therapist (Virginia Licensed) at Rappahannock Juvenile Center (full-time): This position provides direct therapeutic treatment and educa­tional services to substance abusive individuals less than eighteen years of age and their families or children of substance abusing par­ents.  Conducts intake interviews and develops diag­nosis and treatment plans.  Prepares lesson plans and training materials for education­al/treatment programming. Prepares progress notes and other records on individual progress and contacts and prepares related reports. Provides crisis intervention services.  Inputs psychological data for individual placements, care and treatment.  Consults with school and juvenile court officials, agency treatment staff and representatives of other agencies or programs and provides and coordinates individual case manage­ment services including outreach and discharge planning. Provides expert testimony in court and legal proceedings.   • 14-217 Substance Abuse Coordinator II at the Fredericksburg Clinic (full-time): This position is responsible for program planning and development for treatment programs for women with substance use disorders and their families, Adult and Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts, substance abuse case management, and for serving as a resource and planning specialist with respect to the agency’s substance abuse programs. The successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge of individual, family and group treatment theories and techniques relating to clients with substance use disorders, and other behavioral health disorders; knowledge of medical providers, social services and other agencies and community organizations providing services to people with substance use disorders and other clients with behavioral health disorders; ability to supervise, evaluate and coordinate the work of a group of clinicians.  Experience with Drug Treatment Courts and people who are mandated to participate in treatment; experience with co-occurring disorders. Strong leadership skills; ability to provide guidance regarding program needs and performance expectations.   • 14-105 Psychiatrist (full-time): This position performs medical, diagnostic, and treatment services for the agency's outpatients receiving services. The successful candidate will possess a through knowledge of:  the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatry; the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication; and the principles, practices and techniques related to individual therapy and counseling practices for the mentally ill. MENTAL HEALTH RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

  • 14-268  Cook at Crisis Stabilization Program Fredericksburg (part-time): This position plans, shops and prepares meals for participating adults with behavioral health challenges in a community-based, Crisis Stabilization program. Ability to complete Food Protection Manager Certification Course. Ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals in accordance with USDA guidelines. Skill in establishing rapport and communication with program participants. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to communicate with co-workers. Completion of high school supplemented by course work in the culinary arts, human sciences and work experience or equivalent training/experience.   • 14-241 Mental Health Residential Counselor I at Bridgewater Supervised Apartments the City of Fredericksburg (part-time): Supervises and provides independent living skills instruction to long-term mentally ill adults in a residential or home setting. This position carries out instructional programs developed for the individual resident. The successful candidate should possess some knowledge of: the principles, practices and techniques of instruction for persons with long-term or persistent mental illness, effective supportive counseling practices and techniques, behavior management practices and techniques applicable to persons with long-term or persistent mental illness; good knowledge of common housekeeping practices. INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY SERVICES

  • 14-232 and 14-264 Day Support Counselor at Rappahannock Adult Activities (part-time; two positions): This position collects data, instructs and monitors adults with intellectual disabilities in basic social, personal, leisure and vocational skills in a community based setting. The successful candidate will possess: good knowledge of vocational rehabilitative programs and instructional techniques in the work setting assigned; knowledge of the behavioral needs associated with persons with intellectual disabilities; skills in establishing on-going rapport and communication with non-verbal participants; skill in supervising and instructing on an individual and group basis; ability to keep accurate records and prepare daily reports; ability to communicate instructions; skill in training, teaching, coaching people with disabilities; ability to respond to crisis situations both behaviorally and medically; working knowledge of proper body mechanics/lifting skills; working knowledge of the community and ability to learn and develop local resources; ability to engage people with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings with meaningful activities that are entertaining and provide choices for the individual.   • 14-197, 14-265, 14-266, and 14-273 Day Support Specialist at Rappahannock Adult Activities (part-time; four positions): This position develops and implements an instructional program for the development of independent living and vocational skills of adults with intellectual disabilities in an activity center and on-the-job training program. The successful candidate will possess: thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of rehabilitative vocational training and Medicaid programming for day support; good knowledge of social case work management including needs assessment and supportive level counseling; skill in conducting training on an individual and group basis; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to relate well to people with mental and emotional problems; ability to keep accurate records and prepare daily reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the individuals served, families, significant others and other staff; good physical condition.   • 14-88 Intellectual Disability Support Coordination Supervisor in Caroline County (full-time): This position supervises the recruitment, training, and work of assigned Support Coordinators. The Supervisor is responsible for intake/admission to the Intellectual Disability (ID) service delivery system and monitoring of ID Statewide Waiver Waiting List. The incumbent is responsible for providing case management services to individuals with an intellectual disability, which includes: outreach, assessment, service linkage, monitoring and advocacy functions. Traditional and non-traditional counseling, direct care and supportive services are critical.   • 14-41, 14-45, 14-261, and 14-263 Residential Counselor I at New Intermediate Care Facility in Spotsylvania County (part-time; four positions): Supervises and provides independent living skills instruction to adults with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. This position carries out instructional programs developed for the individual resident. Assists with resident hygiene, meal preparation, household duties and community outings. The successful candidate should possess: knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of instruction for persons with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness; knowledge of effective supportive counseling practices and techniques; knowledge of behavior management practices and techniques; ability to physically assist residents who may be of limited mobility; and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, essential. PREVENTION SERVICES

  • 14-259  Family Support Worker with Healthy Families Rappahannock Area in Fredericksburg (full-time): The Family Support Worker is responsible for initiating and maintaining home visiting services to first time parents who are considered to be at risk for abusing or neglecting their child. The position will work with parents to promote bonding and increase parent/child interactions as well as on child development, prenatal and child health, problem solving skills, and linking to community resources as needed. The position will also coordinate community-based events for families in collaboration with other community organizations. Experience in working with culturally diverse communities and families with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate. Experience in conducting group educational or support sessions. Knowledge of community resources. Experience working with overburdened families. Experience conducting meetings and public speaking. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood Education, child development, nursing, social work, or child-related field preferred. Applicant must be computer literate. Valid Virginia Driver’s License with own transportation. Hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with some weekends. Annual salary $34,034 + benefits.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

  • 14-220, 14-199, 14-189, and 14-163 Van Driver - Substitute (part-time; four positions): Provides safe and timely transportation for individuals with various physical and/or mental disabilities to and from their residences to various developmental programs provided by the Agency. The successful candidate will possess: thorough knowledge of the operating and safety practices and techniques related to driving a passenger vehicle; thorough knowledge of state and local laws governing vehicular movement on public thoroughfares; good knowledge of routine preventive maintenance practices and common mechanical failures related to the vehicle operated; good knowledge of the regional geography and major road systems; good knowledge of emergency first aid and CPR techniques; good skill in the operation of a motor vehicle; some knowledge of the common behavior of the population of individuals served by RACSB; good physical condition required to provide assistance to individuals entering and exiting the vehicles; ability to handle crisis situations and relate well with individuals served, their families and agency staff. The successful candidate must be able to work a split shift A.M./P.M., Monday through Friday. High school diploma or its equivalent and considerable driving experience, including paid experience in transporting others. Valid Virginia Driver's License and acceptable driving record required. Hourly rate: $12.38.


ADMINISTRATION

  • 14-270  Office Associate II for Healthy Families Rappahannock Area in Fredericksburg (part-time): Performs regular administrative work, which primarily involves word processing, some spreadsheet work, and other administrative duties. Good knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques. Good knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic. Good skill in the use of a personal computer, word processing and spreadsheet software and copier. Good knowledge of the common terminology of the mental health field.  Some knowledge of standard bookkeeping practices. Good skill in the use of a typewriter and related keyboard equipment. Ability to meet and handle effectively and tactfully the public and program consumers.  Ability to prepare and maintain records and files. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. High School Diploma supplemented by secretarial courses and/or some clerical experience, including public contact work, or equivalent training and experience. Hours are Monday throug Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hourly rate: $13.58.

  • 14-269  Office Manager I at the Caroline County Clinic (full-time): This position performs clerical, record keeping, receptionist and administrative functions at a smaller County Clinic. Work involves a considerable amount of qualified typing, PC word processing and data entry, and secretarial duties.  Thorough knowledge of business office practices; good knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar; good knowledge of bookkeeping practices; good knowledge of the common terminology of the mental health field; some knowledge of the characteristics of the individual group served; good skill in the use of a typewriter and related keyboard equipment; skill in the use of fundamental business mathematics; ability to prepare and maintain records and filing system; ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with individuals and callers to the office. High School Diploma supplemented by courses in business office management and considerable work experience in a business office, or combination of education and experience to produce necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Annual salary: $30,992 + benefits.
