  • 15-39 Adult Mental Health Case Manager in Fredericksburg (full-time): This position is responsible for providing case management services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.  These services may include:  pre-admission and discharge planning, services coordination and delivery, assistance in accessing needed medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational and other supports, as required, and casework documentation. Traditional and non-traditional counseling, direct care, supportive services, and advocacy are critical.  Knowledge of the nature of serious and persistent mental illness in adults.  Knowledge of the treatment modalities and intervention techniques, such as behavior management, independent living skills training, supportive counseling, family education, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and service coordination.  Knowledge of different types of assessments, including functional assessment, and their uses in service planning.  Knowledge of individuals' rights.  Knowledge of local community resources and service delivery systems, including support services, eligibility criteria and intake processes, termination criteria and procedures, and generic community resources.  Knowledge of types of mental health programs and services.  Knowledge of effective oral, written and interpersonal communication principles and techniques.  Skill in interviewing. Skill in observing, recording and reporting on an individual's functioning. Skill in identifying and documenting an individual's needs for resources, services and other supports. Skill in using information from assessments, evaluations, observation and interviews to develop service plans. Skill in identifying services within the community and established service system to meet the individual's needs. Skill in formulating, writing, and implementing individualized service plans to reach goal attainment for seriously mentally ill and emotionally disturbed persons.  Skill in negotiating with individuals and service providers.  Skill in coordinating the provision of services by diverse public and private providers. Skill in identifying community resources and organizations and coordinating resources and activities. Skill in using assessment tools (e.g. level of function scale, life profile scale).  Ability to demonstrate a positive regard for individuals and their families (e.g. treating individuals as individuals, allowing risk taking, avoiding stereotypes of mentally ill people, respecting individuals' and families' privacy, believing individuals are valuable members of society).  Ability to be persistent and remain objective. Ability to work as a team member, maintaining effective inter- and intra-agency working relationships.  Ability to work independently, performing position duties under general supervision.  Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.   • 15-13 Mental Health Nurse Crisis Stabilization at The Sunshine Lady House for Mental Health Wellness and Recovery (full-time): Provides assessment assistance and direct care medical services and supports to participants of the Sunshine Lady House for Mental Health Wellness and Recovery offering Crisis Stabilization and medically monitored detoxification services.   This position assists the staff psychiatrist, nurse practitioner and consulting health care provider in the prescription, administration and monitoring of medication, discharge planning and general daily patient care.  This position works an 8 to 10 hour shift on a rotating schedule, including weekends. Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to Licensed Practical Nursing in Virginia. Experience working in a psychiatric and /or detox setting and knowledge of treatment modalities. Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of medication. Basic knowledge of disease concept of chemical dependency, communicable disease concepts and other infectious disease issues. Ability to accurately maintain medical records. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons served, Crisis staff, physicians and others contacted in the course of work. Ability to follow standards of operation set forth by the RACSB.  Completion of training for LPN with at least one year experience working in the medical and behavioral health field working persons with MH/SA co-occurring diagnosis or equivalent education/experience.   • 15-27 Substance Abuse Therapist, Probation and Parole Office (full-time): Coordinates with probation and parole staff to provide treatment services for individuals in a substance abuse treatment program. Assessment on such referred offenders to include:  alcohol, substance abuse level of disability, readiness for treatment, and need for ancillary services. This position also provides individual treatment plans and progress recordings for each offender; group therapy services for offenders as specified in their treatment plan; individual therapy as needed; alcohol and other drug abuse psycho-education curriculum in a group format; and special focus groups to include: motivational enhancement, relapse prevention, trauma, anger management and acupuncture. Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of the substance abusive population and related individual, group and family therapy and counseling techniques and practices. Experience with co-occurring disorders. Thorough knowledge of individual management guidelines for Virginia.  Good knowledge of office management practices. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population.   • 15-25 Project LINK Specialist in Fredericksburg (full-time): Provides recruitment of, and case coordination services in the home and field for substance-using pregnant women, as well as mothers and their infants and women of childbearing age who are at risk for substance abuse.  Encourages enrollment in substance abuse and/or other necessary treatment services.  Duties include assessment of needs, service planning, service linkage, and case monitoring and individual advocacy through home visits and other contacts with individuals. This position provides health education (i.e., nutrition, stress management, prenatal care, etc.), instructs about child care and parenting techniques, models positive adult infant interaction and offers emotional support, while helping individuals reach goals identified on individual services plans. Good knowledge of: community resources; early childhood growth and development; the medical model of addictions with a solid understanding of enabling vs. empowering; risk factors involved for substance abusing pregnant women; basic nutrition; and functional financial management. Some knowledge of mental health diagnoses treatment programs. Computer skills. Ability to: keep records; work effectively with a wide variety of people; work flexible hours; and skill in training people who may be resistant to the information presented. Bachelor’s degree in human services and two years of experience in working with individuals in the human service field or any combination of training, formal education, and relevant experience that produces the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • 15-23 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (full-time): Performs medical, diagnostic and treatment services for the agency's individuals served population in collaboration with agency psychiatrists. Has thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques related to psychiatry and nursing. Has thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of psychotropic medication.   • 15-21 Juvenile Drug Court Therapist in Fredericksburg (full-time): This position provides direct therapeutic treatment and educational services to substance abusive individuals less than eighteen years of age and their families. Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment substance abusive population and, in particular, the child and adolescent population and related individual, group, family and play therapy  and counseling practices and techniques including multiple treatment modalities.   • 15-19 Program Manager for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program in Health Planning Region I; Fredericksburg (full-time): This position oversees operation of the state funded Virginia Wounded Warrior Program for Health Planning Region I.  Included is supervisory responsibility for the program’s peer specialists and family support specialists.  While the incumbent is an employee of RACSB, the position provides services to all eight community services boards within the region.  Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment behavioral health practices, particularly as these relate to military personnel, veterans and their families; thorough knowledge of individual management guidelines for Virginia; good knowledge of office management practices; ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and with private and public agency personnel; ability to plan, coach, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates; ability to function calmly in stressful situations; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to maintain records, ability to manage a budget.   • 15-06 Psychosocial Advocate at Kenmore Club (full-time): Provides services and support to long-term mentally ill clubhouse (day support program) members, including pre vocational training, vocational training, outreach, and supportive counseling. Incumbent may supervise the preparation of lunch for all program participants, a clerical unit, do outreach and home visiting, and supervises the preparation of statistical reporting or a program maintenance unit staffed by program participants. Good knowledge of the practices and techniques of rehabilitative vocational training in "club house" setting. Some knowledge of social casework management and of supportive level counseling practices. Ability to lead the work of others. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.   • 15-12 Mental Health Residential Counselor I at Bridgewater Street Supervised Apartment Program (full-time): Supervises and provides independent living skills instruction to adults with sever and persistent mental illness in a residential or home setting. This position carries out instructional programs developed for the individual resident. Some knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of instruction for persons with long-term or persistent mental illness. Some knowledge of effective supportive counseling practices and techniques. Some knowledge of behavior management practices and techniques applicable to persons with long-term or persistent mental illness. Good knowledge of common housekeeping practices. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, their families, other staff and significant others. Ability to prepare accurate participant records. Good physical condition, including the ability to physically assist participants who may be of limited mobility.   • 15-09 Veteran Peer Specialist with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program in Spotsylvania County (full-time): Provides peer support to veterans and their families in the Fredericksburg and surrounding areas. Office is based in Spotsylvania. Position provides peer support services to veterans and their families for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, Region I. Services are provided to veterans by assisting in the navigation of services and resources which address the need presented by the veteran. This requires the continual development of a service resource network for veterans. Qualified candidates must have the ability to facilitate combat peer support groups.  Position requires the ability to connect with combat veterans at a peer level.  Required:  Must be Military Veteran in any service branch with an Honorable Discharge. Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minimum of three years of professional experience in quality assurance, program planning and evaluation activities and coordination in the area of clinical and/or community services, involving compliance with statutory regulations, or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.  Valid Virginia driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Annual salary: $49,868 + benefits.
